What's New in this Release?

Version 5.0 SP1

The following enhancements and changes are applied to v5.0 SP1 System Administration & Diagnostics:

Added Save DB Programming logs button in the Options window's Advanced tab.

Renamed Show security alert message when SSL certificate is not recognized check-box in Options window's General Tab to Always prompt before saving SSL certificates.

Renamed Always save SSL certificates and do not show this security alert message again check-box in the security alert message boxes to Always show this message before saving SSL certificates.

Version 5.0

The following enhancements and changes are applied to v5.0 System Administration & Diagnostics.

 NOTE: You must have v5.0 or later System Administration & Diagnostics to support v5.0 features. If you have a pre-5.0 version, some of the new features may not function properly. Also, to support Database Reporting, the SAP® Crystal Reports® application (built with Crystal Reports for Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2010) must be installed during the System Administration & Diagnostics installation. The installation also includes the Microsoft Access® 2010 Runtime redistributable program.

• Reporting

  The new Reporting tab is added to the navigation area to support the Embedded (built-in) Reporting feature.

• Time Zone Options

  The Display dates and times in my local time zone check box is added to the General tab in the Options dialog box.

• Conferences Content Control

  The Conferences content control is added to the Call activity tab (formerly called Call data) and is enabled if the application is connected to a v5.0 or later system. This content control displays high-level conferencing information and details about each conference.

• Network Topology View

  The Networking Information content control now displays network status information in a graphical view, as well as in a traditional list view. The graphical view improves visualization and is the default view.

• Database Reporting

  Database Reporting in System Administration & Diagnostics provides enhanced DB Programming configuration reports. This replaces the Report Programming folder that used to exist in DB Programming. Previous reports programmed in DB Programming are discarded and must be newly programmed using Database Reporting in System Administration & Diagnostics.

• Data Grid Filtering

  You can now filter columns in the data grids. Columns that can be filtered are indicated with a filter () icon. See Content Controls for details.

• System Connection Network Groups

  Prior to v5.0, System Administration & Diagnostics displayed all of the system connections in alphabetical order in the System Connection drop-down list. In v5.0, System Administration & Diagnostics can display system connections by network group. The following areas are enhanced to support this functionality:

  • Network Group Section

    The Add/Edit System Connections dialog box contains a new section titled “Network Group.” This section contains a check box indicating whether the system is part of a network. If the box is selected, you can select an existing network group. From this section you can also bring up a window to manage your network groups. You can add, rename, and delete network groups from this window.

     

  • System Connection Drop-Down List

• New System Command

  The View hot desk manager command is added to the Phone & device info main command in the System Commands content control under the System output tab.

• New License Fields

  The following licenses are added to the License Details window (View software license) in the System Information content control under the System Information tab:

  • Hot Desking

  • Meet-Me Conferencing

  • Unified Voice Messaging E-Mail Synchronization

  • Unified Voice Messaging Blackberry® Integration

• Renamed Fields

  The following fields are renamed in v5.0 System Administration & Diagnostics:

  • Basic Voice Mail (BVM) --> Unified Voice Messaging (UVM)

  — under the Voice mail type field in the Create New Database dialog box

  • BVM --> UVM

  — under the Voice processor field in the Backups\Location tab in the Add/Edit System Connection dialog box

  • Basic Voice Mail --> Unified Voice Messaging

  — under the Application Information content control in the System information tab

  • IP Resource Diagnostics --> IP Resource Usage

  IPDRM Resources --> IPDRM Resource Usage

  — the content controls under the Resource & device info tab

  • Call data --> Call activity

  My diagnostics --> Favorites

  — the main tabs in the navigation area

  • System Diagnostics --> System Monitoring

  — the System Diagnostics section in the main screen

  • Node is frozen --> System is not actively saving logs (frozen)

  Node is unfrozen --> blank (display nothing when the node is unfrozen)

  — the node status descriptions under the Networking Information content control in the System information tab

• Removed Fields

  The following fields are removed in v5.0 System Administration & Diagnostics:

  • PRI ports

  — under the Software license usage section in the License Information dialog box\General tab under the System Information content control in the System information tab

  • PRI ports tab

  — under the License Information dialog box in the System Information content control in the System information tab
