For onsite or Network connections or as soon as the Remote Configuration or Modem connection is completed, the top line of the Information Bar shows “Contacting the system…” In the expansion area, the steps are included, whichever are attempted to establish the connection. Only the steps needed are attempted and displayed; System Administration & Diagnostics uses the last detected system version to choose which steps to try first. As the steps are tried, the current step replaces the previous steps in the expanded area, to keep it from getting too deep—that is, only the current step is shown.
