If an offline session is terminated in an abnormal manner (for example, power outage, task manager operation), the session remains intact on the computer, with its assigned name. When next time you launch the System Administration & Diagnostics application or select the Manage offline sessions menu option, the System Administration & Diagnostics application searches for any sessions terminated abnormally and offers recovery options to you. If such a session is found, a prompt similar to the one below appears.
Do one of the following:
Accept the default session name.
Type a different name in the text box.
Click Recover.
Click Discard.
Click Exit.
NOTE: Until you click Recover or Discard, the Recover Session dialog box appears each time you launch the System Administration & Diagnostics application or select the Manage offline sessions menu option.
If you click Exit, or if the abnormal termination occurs while System Administration & Diagnostics is running, and you then use the Recent offline sessions menu option to open the abnormally terminated session (see Resuming Recent Offline Sessions), a message appears prompting whether you want to recover changes from the abnormally terminated session.
Do one of the following:
Click Yes to recover changes and resume from the point just prior to the abnormal termination.
Click No to open the session from the state last successfully saved.
Click Cancel to abort opening the session, and leave the aborted session as it was.
NOTE: Until you click Yes or No, a recover prompt appears each time you launch the System Administration & Diagnostics application or session, or select the Manage offline sessions menu option.
