Using the Secure Shell (SSH) Connection menu option, you can launch an instance of PuTTY for the active connection. This option is always visible, as long as a valid connection exists and is selected in the System Connection drop-down list and the PuTTY application is installed. If authentication fails, this option remains enabled so that you can edit the user name and password for the connection and try again.
Whenever the PuTTY is launched, if not already connected, System Administration & Diagnostics automatically connects to the active connection. If the connection is Modem or Remote Configuration, System Administration & Diagnostics launches the SSH Connection as soon as the connection is complete. If the connection is onsite or Network, launch takes place almost immediately after verifying the IP address and ports.
Click System management tools, and then select Launch SSH Connection for <connection name>. The PuTTY window appears. Note that if the account information is invalid, PuTTY opens and closes immediately with no error message.
