The following information shows possible programming error messages and troubleshooting tips for Scheduled Backups. These messages appear in a warning message box or tooltip.
Error Messages when Backups are not Available
“Scheduled backups requires a valid connection.”
Possible Cause: Neither the onsite nor offsite connection programming is valid on the Connection tab.
Corrective Action: None. As designed.
“To schedule backups for this 5000 CP, you must install a x.x.x.x version of DB Programming.”
Possible Cause: No DB Programming version is compatible with the last detected system version installed.
Corrective Action: If the system version is no longer x.x.x.x, you must connect to the 5000 CP at least once before backups can be scheduled.
Possible Cause: The version last detected for DB Programming on the system does not support backups (pre-3.0).
Corrective Action: None. As designed. If you have recently upgraded the 5000 CP, connect to the 5000 CP.
“You must connect to DB Programming on the 5000 CP at least once before backups can be scheduled.”
Possible Cause: The version of the system is unknown.
Corrective Action: Connect to DB Programming on the 5000 CP.
“Scheduled backups is not supported for remote configuration connections.”
Possible Cause: The onsite connection is not programmed and the offsite connection is remote configuration.
Corrective Action: None. As designed.
“Unable to schedule backups: reason. If this problem persists, contact Technical Support.”
Possible Cause: As described in “reason.”
Corrective Action: Resolve the problem if possible. If this problem persists, contact Technical Support.
Possible Cause: Some changes have not been saved.
Corrective Action: None. Click Yes to continue (cancelling all unsaved changes) or No to return to the Scheduled Backups dialog box.
Possible Cause: You have not scheduled a Scheduled Backup configuration test.You have not scheduled a Scheduled Backup configuration test.
Corrective Action: Go to the Test tab and schedule a test.
Possible Cause: You have not scheduled a Scheduled Backup configuration test.
Corrective Action: Go to the Test tab and schedule a test.
Possible Cause: Two sessions have the same folder path name.
Corrective Action: Change one of the sessions with a different folder path name.
“You must enter a Save system database to folder.”
Possible Cause: The Save system database to folder box is blank.
Corrective Action: Type the folder name.
“The Save system database to folder is invalid.”
Possible Cause: The folder name is invalid.
Corrective Action: Type the valid folder name.
Possible Cause: The folder specified is on a drive that has less than 50 MB available.
Corrective Action: Select a different drive.
“To save voice data, you must enter a Path.”
Possible Cause: The Path box is blank.
Corrective Action: Type the valid path in the Path box.
“The voice data Path is invalid.”
Possible Cause: The Path holds an invalid folder name.
Corrective Action: Type the valid folder name in the Path box.
“You must enter at least one Recipient.”
Possible Cause: The Recipient(s) box is blank.
Corrective Action: Type one or more recipients. Or, disable E-mail Notification.
“You must enter a Server/Port Number.”
Possible Cause: The Server or Port Number box is blank.
Corrective Action: Type the server or port number. Or, disable E-mail Notification.
Possible Cause: You have not sent a test message to verify that the Notification programming is valid.
Corrective Action: Click Send Test Message to test the changes.
“Unable to send e-mail: reason.”
Possible Cause: There is a problem sending the message.
Corrective Action: Address the problem before Notification can work properly.
Possible Cause: The Recipient(s) box is blank.
Corrective Action: Type one or more recipients. Or, disable E-mail Notification.
Possible Cause: The Username box is blank.
Corrective Action: Type the valid user name in the Username box.
Possible Cause: A month not selected.
Corrective Action: Select at least one month.
